In 2016, Connie was proud to be presented with the “Spark Award” from GCI Worldwide Corporation at their annual “Extraordinary Women Leading Change” conference. This award is given to an exceptional leader that has taken the steps necessary in her career to ascend in a leadership role and that embodies the true spirit of women who are changing the world one company at a time. In November of 2017 she returned to EWLC as a conference speaker.
At the close of 2016, with an election on the horizon and proposed changes to Healthcare Reform being a major debate topic, Connie was asked to join a distinguished group of business leaders to discuss the challenges, triumphs and future of the healthcare industry by the South Florida Business Journal. The resulting “2016 Critical Conversations – Healthcare” article was published in the November 4, 2016 print and digital edition of the publication.
Connie is a VISTAGE Florida Resource Speaker and a Speaker for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). This Executive Seminar Topic:

Negotiate Your Best Possible Price

Since 1999 health insurance premiums have increased a whopping 213%. In 2017 the average premium for a group health insurance plan was $11,934. Each year employers face difficult decisions on balancing the cost of coverage with their desire to attract and retain quality employees. Taking advantage of our market driven system is one part of the solution.
On average, 49% of Americans receive their health insurance coverage from the workplace. In Florida, we provide coverage to only 39% of our population. Health insurance is costly and for many employers it is the single most expensive budget item next to employee wages.
Group Health Insurance - How the Market Really Works
In this workshop, Executives will learn:
• What health care costs and how it compares with other financial metrics
• Who the insurance industry players are and how they compete for your business
• How an insurance carrier underwrites your business
• How to leverage the insurance marketplace for the best possible price
• Understanding the insurance brokerage system
Are you getting the best possible price from the health insurance marketplace?

Attendees of this seminar will come away with a clearer understanding of the health insurance marketplace and will gain the information needed to negotiate from a position of strength and to secure the best possible terms for their companies.
